How to Run Parallel Claude Code Agents
A Claude Code subscription can drive many terminals at once. The hard part is not starting them; it is keeping them from colliding, keeping their work honest, and keeping yourself off the critical path.
Give each agent its own worktree
Two agents editing one checkout overwrite each other. A git worktree per agent gives every terminal its own branch and files, so they merge like any other branches instead of racing on disk.
One ticket per terminal
Hand each agent one small, observable piece of work with acceptance criteria it can test. Small tickets finish, merge and free the terminal for the next one; large ones stall and conflict.
Gate every change
Parallel agents produce more code than one person can review. Tests written first, a reviewer pass and a pre-push run catch what you cannot, so you approve results instead of reading every diff.
Know what it costs
Every terminal spends tokens. Pick the model per job and estimate the bill before you scale out.
